Day 22: Inspired By A Song

I've been thinking so much of what song I should be inspired by. I listen to so much music, but I couldn't pick anything where I though I could make something with. I decided to watch video clips instead and I got inspired!

I doubt you can tell what video I choose, but I picked Jessie J's Domino. The video is really nice and I saw some things that I wanted to do something with.

This picture is inspired from the part where Jessie sits on this zebra print chair and she wears this gorgeous butterfly mask!

My index finger is inspired by a jacket she wears in the video. It's a blue and green gradient with leopard print and something printed in yellow. I decided to just put the yellow with the gradient as well.

My middle finger is from where she wears this pink suit kind of thing full with with things. I don't know what they were, so I just stamped clouds on my nail :P

My ring finger is inspired by the wall where she dances in a white 'I-don't-know-what-to-call-it'. The wall is actually greenish, but I already had a green nail.

My pink is inspired by the very beginning. Also the wall, with these circles in circles going in circles ;p

Overall I'm kind of proud of my little creation. Especially because I'm not that creative :P I hope you like it too! :)

Day 21: Inspired By A Color

Hello! I'm back with the challenge :)

I didn't really know what to do today. How can I be inspired by a color? I don't get creative from a color. Actually, I'm not really creative at all. At first I wanted to go all ombre again, since I had 2 new pink polishes, but 1 of them looks just like some others. The one that I'm wearing is really awesome though!

I'm wearing 2 coats of Catrice's new 2012 polish Aretha's R•E•S•P•I•N•K. It's almost like a hot pink neon, but it's not neon. It dries shiny and looks amazing. It's like a perfect hot pink.

Over this manicure I applied a coat of Golden Rose flakies in number 15. My favorite flakie! It's really rainbowy and I got a lot of compliments on it at work today :) Compliments make me happy :P

For tomorrow's challenge I'm kind of excited. I have an idea in mind and I hope it all works out well :P

Layering: Forget that Brilliant Alias

Hello! I'm sorry for my absence. I hope to continue with the 31 Day Challenge tomorrow :)

Today I have my first layered manicure for you. I tried it a few times before, but it never worked out. This manicure is actually 3 weeks old, but I found these pictures and decided to post them.

I don't remember what base coat I used, but it's either Seche Vite or Trind Nail Repair. Then I applied 1 or 2 coats of Catrice's Forget Me Not followed by a coat of Alias from Color Club. I topped it off with BeYu's Brilliant Shiraz and I was so happy with the way it looked!

My happiness was gone when I was in bed later that night and my polish started peeling off again. I went 'naked' before this manicure for about a week. The week before when my polish peeled off was when I was also wearing Brilliant Shiraz. So it's not the condition of my nails, but it's Brilliant Shiraz that's giving me peeling polish. I tried a few topcoats, but none work. Brilliant Shiraz is not for my nails :(

But anyway, thank you for reading and I hope to see you back soon :)

Catrice Nymphelia LE: Be Pool

In case you didn't know; I'm taking a little break from the 31 day challenge, but I'll continue in a few days :)

Today I have a polish from the new limited edition from Catrice. Be Pool from the Nymphelia collection. When it comes to polishes this is the only polish that isn't in the standard collection. The other four are, which is kind of a disappointment.

This is Be Pool. A sea blue/green polish with a green shimmer. This is the kind of polish that looks so different in some lightnings. These pictures don't really show the true color of this polish, but I'm telling you; it's gorgeous!

I think I want Salmon & Garfunkel as well, but I could buy that one any time this year. I feel like it's a bit too light for my skin tone or at least it will look weird :P

Hello!

I'm just letting you know that I'm taking a few days off from the 31 Day Challenge! I hope to continue in a few days. If not, I promise I will continue soon :)

Day 20: Water Marbled

Hello! Today I kinda cheated. Like the title says, I was supposed to water marble. I do not have filtered room temperature water and I'm not gonna buy a bottle of water just for today. So after a few tries I decided to just do a drag marble. I believe that's what this is called.

I used the following polishes;
Essie - Tart Deco, Color Club - Wham! Pow!, China Glaze - Sugar High, Color Club - Warhol, Catrice - Lucky In Lilac!, Color Club - Pucci-Licious, Essence - Got A Secret, Orly - Blue Collar and China Glaze - Snow.

In case you didn't know; I have a super small room. I don't even have a closet and until not so long ago I didn't even have a bed. When I do my nails I have this plate thing for your lap (it's supposed to be for breakfast in bed) It's not really stable, but comes in quite handy for doing my nails. Today, I have no idea what happened, but since the plate is so unstable I dropped 7 open bottles on my carpet and bed... So yeah, I can't remove it, but it's not so bad. I hate this carpet and the sheets... Who cares? ;p

I water marbled once before. Check it here!

Day 19: Galaxies

I was kinda nervous to do the galaxy nails, because I only have to pick 1 wrong color and I can start all over again! But today that wasn't the case. I think I picked the right colors and I'm pretty satisfied with the end result :)

The picture above is from the nail I liked best; my middle finger. You can see most of the base color I used and to me that's more galaxy-like ;p

This last picture is a one from all the polishes I used. From left to right;
Sinful Colors - Frenzy
Essence Multi Dimension - Midnight Rocker (base color)
Catrice - Blues Brother Vol. II
Miss Sporty Clubbing Colors - 330
Orly - Blue Collar
China Glaze - Ahoy!
ELF - Glitter Purple
ELF - Lilac
Essie - East Hampton Cottage

The bottle that's not on the picture is China Glaze's Fairy Dust. I just forgot about it ;p

Day 18: Half Moons

Maybe it's better for all of us to just skip this post :P This challenge helped some people to get better with the nail art and all, but I think I'm getting worse by the day!

I've never done half moons before and I used those half moon sticker things, but they didn't do what they were supposed to do. It was more straight then a nice curve, so I had to give it more of a half moon shape with the brush of the polish. That didn't work out too well either, but at least I tried :)

But, in real life this manicure actually looks nicer than the picture I have to say. I really like the combination of pink with glitter and black. And yes, the pink with glitter is from yesterday's manicure :P

That's all for today!

Day 17: Glitter

I love glitter! For today's tiny challenge I noticed I don't have that many glitter polishes. Most actually look a lot alike. But then I noticed this China Glaze that I actually never showed.

This is Carnival Lights from China Glaze's Specialty Collection. It's a bit of a jelly pink base and it's full of holographic glitter. It also has tiny pink glitters, but that's not really visible in the pictures. I don't recommend anybody to wear this one on it's own. You would probably need 5 coats or more and it will not dry! I'm wearing Carnival Lights over Catrice's Welcome To Rosywood.

Even though the nail on my ringfinger ripped off yesterday. Most of it is just the side of the nail missing. So I edited my pics in this way, so it doesn't look to weird for me :P

Do you have a favorite glitter polish? If so, let me know! :)

Day 16: Delicate Print

Hello! Today I have the 'forgotten' delicate print. Maybe a bit too delicate :P Today I had some nail horror going on on both my hands, so that's why my index finger is not going to be showed for probably a week xD

I started, of course, with a basecoat. Today I used Trind's Nail Repair. I think you can all see what polish I used, but if not; It's the GORGEOUS Wild At Heart from Color Club. For my matte topcoat I used GOSH Matt Effect Topcoat. Then I stamped with Wild At Heart and I used image plate SdP-47.

The reason why I did nothing with my middle finger is because the matte topcoat takes a long time to dry and something invisible would just keep making bumps and smudges on my nail! I re-did my nail 3 times and then I just decided to leave it like this ;p

Day 15: Tribal Print

I switched day 15 and 16. Today was supposed to be 'Delicate print', but I accidentally went to day 16. But that doesn't matter. I'm doing what I was supposed to do today, tomorrow OR I'll take a little break and continue in a few days. These sentences sound really confusing to me right now ;p

My tribal nails turned out really sad and not as epic as how it looks on other people. I do like the ones on my ring and pinky finger though. Of course I worked with striping tape again, because I don't really have nice brushes ;p

I started off with a base coat and then painted all of my nails black with the color Black from Color Club. Then I used striping tape for the shapes and stripes. Then I used different colors from different brands, just ask if you want to know a specific color, and I filled everything with a dotting tool. Again, I didn't use a topcoat afterwards. The reason I don't do that is because when I use a topcoat everything starts to smudge. Doesn't matter what topcoat I use or how long I leave my nails to dry. For the pictures I don't like smudgy, smudge smudge xD

Please leave a comment and thanks for reading!

Valentine Nails; Hearts & Dots

I think most people don't celebrate Valentine's Day. Me neither. Why has there be one day to tell your loved one to tell you love them while you can do that every other day as well?

Anyway, I do love all the hearts and cute things you see everywhere :)

For this manicure I used Seche Vite clear base coat. The white nails are Snow from China Glaze and the red nails are 1 coat of Bloody Mary To Go and 2 coats of Marilyn & Me, both from Catrice. The dots are from Konad image plate m79 and the hearts from image plate m59. I stamped with a red and white stamping polish and I used no topcoat.

Oh, have you seen my post for the 31 day challenge for today? If not, click right.... HERE!

Day 14: Flowers

I'm actually pretty excited about these flower nails! It reminds me of summer, beach, Hawaii, but also Bikini Bottom :P

I'm really not the person for freehand stuff, even though I do have to show my skills soon, so of course I stamped away! Again I used Konad image plate m57. Probably my favorite plate. I do have other plates with flowers, but these flowers were exactly what I needed.

For these nails I started off with 2 coats of Coastal Creme from Color Club. When that dried I sponged over it with Mint Cream from ELF for a gradient effect. Then I applied an O.P.I. topcoat. For the pink flowers I used Beautiful Girl from Sinful Colors and Sugar High from China Glaze. I didn't use a topcoat afterwards.

Day 13: Animal Print

Animal print. I always like seeing it on others, but on me... I don't know. I like to show stuff here and then I like it, but I would probably not go out the house with these nails ;p

Just like yesterday it turned out a bit different than planned, but that's okay. The colors I used were Pucci-Licious (purple), What A Drag (silver) and Warhol (pink), all from Color Club. For the black I used a black stamping polish.

  • Seche Vite base coat
  • 2 coats of Pucci-Licious, What A Drag and Warhol
  • Essence matte topcoat on Pucci-Licious and Warhol
  • Konad image plate m57
  • Silver stamping with What A Drag
  • Black stamping with black stamping polish
  • No topcoat

Day 12: Stripes

I can't believe this is day 12 already! It means we're already almost on the half of this month. Time flies when you're having fun. Actually also when you're not having fun.

For today I actually had something different in mind. You probably know that thing where you have something in mind, you work in it and during your little 'project' you change up things and it comes out different than planned. Never the less, I like the way it turned out. Kinda sporty.

I thought it would be better if I make a list of what I used.
  • Seche Clear base coat
  • 2 coats China Glaze Something Sweet
  • 1 coat Golden Rose Scale Effect #15
  • Metallic pink striping tape
  • O.P.I. top coat
I really liked this flakie. I believe I haven't really wore flakies over other colors than just black or dark colors.

Hope to see you back tomorrow! :)

Day 11: Polka Dots

Polka dots are fun! I had a lot of trouble deciding what colors to use. I didn't want to go for a black base, but also not for a colored base. White didn't seem like an option either. So it seemed like this wasn't going to happen.

I decided to go for white anyway, because I wanted pink dots. To make it a bit more fun I applied Snow Globe from China Glaze first and then using Konad image plate m79 and a pink stamping polish I stamped the dots on my nails.

Snow Globe is such an awesome glitter polish. You can't actually call it a glitter polish, but I don't know what else to call it :P I think I need to get another bottle of this, because it's such a special thing!

Oh, and I was wondering what you thought of my Gradient Nails from yesterday?

Day 10: Gradient Nails

Gradient nails! I always love gradients, but I never really know where to begin. Then I just want to combine so many colors and it never turns out how I want it.

Today's nails were made not too long before this post. I used a polish from the new Catrice collection named Welcome To Roosywood, an old pink color. Depending on the lightning it can look like an old pink, but it can also look like a brick color.

To keep it simple I used Candy Cane from Color Club. An amazing pink glitter polish! Probably my favorite! It has two different colors of pink glitter in it, some purple glitter and holographic glitter. Just amazing! This polish will also look amazing on it's own. I never did, because glitter is not made for my nails I guess :P

This is the end of the first part from the 31 day challenge. I'm excited for the patterns! :D

Day 9: Rainbow Nails

I'm really, really, really disappointed in the way this manicure turned out. In real it actually looked a bit better than this, because the orange looks a lot less red in real life. It's super messy and I blame all of that on the striping tape... When I later added it between the colors it just didn't stick on my nail at all!

Ever since I was little I've been loving bright colors and whenever I was drawing rainbows (did that a lot when I was little) I always did pink, orange, yellow, green and blue. Sometimes purple and red as well :)

From pink to blue I used;
Color Club - Warhol
Color Club - Wham! Pow!
Color Club - Almost Famous
Catrice - Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy
Sinful Colors - Why Not?

Day 8: Metallic Nails

For today we have some metallic nails. I have to say I hate metallic polishes. The finish is something that's just not my thing. Recently I saw this post from The Polished Perfectionist. Since I now wanted to try something metallic matte, I did it for today. And I love the way this polish looks matte. This is the new version of Let's Mauve On! from Catrice.

I decided to stamp over it with an image from Konad image plate m65. I don't really like this combination, but I guess it's okay. I think I might Let's Mauve On! more often now.

Tomorrow we have rainbow nails and I hope I can make it look just like I did on my old blog :)

Day 7: Black & White Nails

I'm just in time today to post these Black & White nails. For some reason I found it really hard to think of something. I tried so many things and it just didn't look good. Now it's almost midnight, so I just did something simple. I'm not wearing the manicures I post because I'm going 'naked' for a while.

In real life the white nails actually look like they have a green layer over them. Which they actually have, because of the topcoat I used :P

Short post, but I hope to make it up tomorrow :)

Day 6: Violet Nails

Violet... I had to Google it, because I didn't really know what purple's I could use. All the colors that I saw were all different kinds of purple, so I thought I could just use these two for it.

I started with painting my nails in Plum Play With Me from Catrice which I actually bought a while back. I never noticed this one, but it's been out there forever! The triangle part is Purple Pleaser from ELF. It was pretty hard to get the striping tape the way I wanted to be, but I couldn't take it off anymore, because then I had to re-do my nails. And I'm too lazy for that! All in all it turned out not too bad.

I think you can see what I tried to make. A peace sign! :)

Before I forget; I told you about the bunny we bought, but he still doesn't have a name! So here's a picture of him. Maybe his furry coat makes you think of a name ;p

I hope you liked today's mani :)

Day 5: Blue Nails

Doing this challenge makes me realize that it's easier to remember the date. But that's just a side note. For day 5 we have blue nails on the planning. At first I stamped something, but it kinda failed big time. I had some blue polishes in my hands to do some new stamping, but I decided to go for ombre instead.

The colors are far from accurate and even photoshop couldn't help me. In real life I really like the way it looks. Just like the orange and yellow nails it makes me feel like summer is coming soon!

Thumb: Sinful Colors - Why Not?
Index: Orly - Blue Collar
Middle: Julep - Amy
Ring: China Glaze - For Audrey
Pinky - Essence - You Belong To Me

Day 4: Green Nails

Woah! I made it to day 4! :P Okay, just kidding. I'm still enjoying the challenge so far :) Surprisingly enough I do own some green polishes. For this day I wanted to stamp again, because it just makes it a bit less boring. I painted my nails with Sold Out Forever from Catrice and stamped over it with Jade Is Not My Name, also from Catrice.

Oh, yesterday my mom wanted me to go with her grocery shopping, because of the snow. She always buys more when I go with her. This time we also came home with a really cute big bunny... But I can't think of a name! Anyone here with a nice suggestion for him? :)

Day 3: Yellow Nails

I have never worn yellow polish. While I had this on my nails I didn't really know what to think about it. The color looks nice, but not on me. My fingers looked even more fat and yellow! :P This is Almost Famous from Color Club added with a matte topcoat from Miss Sporty.

For summer I think I might wear this one. I find this color kinda funny today, since it started snowing here today. And of course today I forgot my gloves. When I went home from work I almost felt with my scooter a few times, my hands almost froze off and when I came home and they started warming up they were hurting like hell! I almost cry and I hardly cry xD

So this is it for today :) I hope to see you back tomorrow!

Valentine Nails; Hearts

Hello! I hope you've seen my earlier post of the day which is day 2 of the 31 day challenge. Since I do want to show some mani's for Valentine's Day, I will post twice a day the upcoming weeks until Valentine's Day.

I really like this mani. Not only because it's pink, but also because of the randomly done sponging. I first wanted to stamp the hearts in black, but the stamping polish I had didn't really work so well. So I choose white instead, which might be nicer anyway.

Day 2: Orange Nails

This is a re-post. I scheduled this post at 1:00 PM (my time) but about an hour before I wanted to change it, but made a mistake. It ended up saying I posted it 12 hours before that, so by then hardly anybody would see it :P

Orange isn't really my color, although I don't know how I feel about it this summer. I actually think I would wear orange by then :) I painted my nails in Tart Deco from Essie and over that I stamped with Wham! Pow! from Color Club. For the image I used Konad m65.

I'm only 2 days in and already happy with today's result :P Do you like my manicure? :)

Day 1: Red Nails

My first day of this challenge! At the moment I'm like; I'm totally completing this challenge! But I have no idea how I feel in like 2 weeks xD

I hope you can forgive my sloppiness. I cleaned up around my nails and in real life all the red seemed like it was gone, but the pics show something different.

My base color was Ruby deer and the darker color is Phat Santa. The glitter over Phat Santa is Mrs. Claus. All are from China Glaze.

I hope to see you back for day 2, and I have to tell that I'm pretty excited about that manicure :)
